For Recruiters
Please Read!
Thank you for taking the time to read this! I know how busy you are, so I tried to keep things concise and scannable. If you have an opportunity that aligns with my background and interests in systems programming, distributed systems, computer networking, cloud computing, machine learning, or healthcare technology, I look forward to hearing from you at dhruv@dhruvsinghal.com and learning more.
-
Please contact me only via email at dhruv@dhruvsinghal.com. This allows me to keep all recruiting-related communications organized in one place.
-
I kindly request that you do not try to connect with or message me on LinkedIn. I prefer to keep my professional network there focused on people I have worked with directly.
-
When reaching out, please provide specific details about the role, including:
- The team and larger organization the role is part of
- An overview of the projects and technologies involved
- The location - while I am open to new opportunities, I cannot relocate outside of the Bay Area
- The name of the company if you are not an internal recruiter
- The expected base salary range
The more concrete information you can share up front, the better I can evaluate if it could potentially be a good fit.
-
Given my specialized technical background in systems programming, cloud computing, and machine learning as detailed on my resume, I am not a good fit for opportunities in early-stage startups, blockchain/crypto, advertising/marketing tech, or remote-only positions. I am focused on impactful opportunities to grow my skills in established tech companies.
Special Interests
Computer Networking & Distributed Systems
I have a deep interest and experience in computer networking and large-scale distributed systems:
-
Computer networking has captivated me since high school. I even had the opportunity to set up and maintain the network and IT infrastructure for my parents’ pathology lab and medical clinic in India. In graduate school, I briefly explored FPGA-based reconfigurable networking hardware and the P4 programming language for switches, though this research was limited in scope.
-
At Google Cloud Platform (GCP), I currently work on a C++ service that handles 20 million queries per second while maintaining a 99.9995% availability SLO (Service Level Objective). The system is designed to be fault-tolerant, ensuring correct operation even if an entire GCP region goes down. This experience has given me deep insight into building resilient, high-performance distributed systems at massive scale.
I would be thrilled to apply my passion and expertise in computer networking and distributed systems to tackle exciting challenges in these domains. If you have opportunities that align with this background, I would love to learn more.
Healthcare & Biotech
I also want to call out that healthcare and biotech are areas of strong interest, even though I tend to avoid most other heavily regulated industries like government, defense, education, and finance where innovation can be constrained by strict oversight and legacy systems.
Having grown up with two doctor parents, I have always been fascinated by the potential for technology, especially machine learning and AI, to drive breakthroughs in medical research and patient care:
-
Using computer vision and neural networks to automate analysis of radiology images and detect early signs of conditions like cancer
-
Applying natural language processing (NLP) to extract insights from unstructured notes in electronic health records
-
Building recommendation systems on genetic and patient data to enable more targeted, personalized therapies
I would very much welcome the chance to apply my software engineering skills towards opportunities in this uniquely impactful space. So if you are recruiting for roles at the intersection of technology and healthcare/biotech, definitely reach out.
